Ted Cruz marched into a firing range in Johnston, Iowa, and with vigor and poise, received a thunderous applause from an audience of firearm owners. Cruz was not afraid of the liberal dogma surrounding gun rights, especially the mainstream media’s portrayal of them following the Paris and San Bernardino attacks.
Cruz, surrounded by swaths of weaponry, stated, “You don’t stop bad guys by taking away our guns. You stop bad guys by using our guns.”
He vowed to battle the President’s “Jihadist” crusade against the Bill of Rights, using all the power he has been accorded as a Texas senator. Cruz stated, “We need to target the bad guys… But on the flip side, what is it that keeps us safe? What keeps us safe is we are free people who have the God-given right to protect our homes, our families and our lives.”
To say Cruz’s campaigning at a gun range irked the left would be an egregious understatement. In point of fact, the left has become more and more fearful of Cruz’s constitutional conservatism and its supporters.
Dan Gross, a liberal advocate against the second amendment, as well as president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, stated that the candidates “are all just trying to outdo each other to try and demonstrate that this is a debate over constitutional rights rather than what it is, which is a debate over what we can do to keep guns out of the hands of people that shouldn’t have them.”
However this is a debate over what is constitutional and what is not, such is the nature of America; and Cruz is not afraid to say so, or show where he stands.
And what is the best way to show this? Meat and guns. It does not get much more American than that, and Cruz combined them both beautifully. Take a peek at this video below and see why Cruz is the most badass candidate out there.
